Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY; born 17 March, 1988), known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer music producer, and songwriter. [2][3] Her early work was described as moving to "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated elements from electronic music, hip hop, and rock. She frequently incorporates science fiction and feminist themes throughout her songs. Five studio albums have been made available by the group. Grimes was born in Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. Her first independent career in the latter part of the 2000s. In 2010, she debuted two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions was her third studio album. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion", which was considered for the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album received high marks by critics and a variety of journals voted it as the top album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Beyond the music industry, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the music competition game program Alter Ego.
